WATCH: Australian star’s ‘Dads’ TV show is now a hit on YouTube, Twitter and other social media outlets, with its popularity boosted by the dad-themed sitcom about his late father.

The series, written and directed by Josh Gittleson, starred Tom Arnold as Tom Arnold’s dad John, played by Mark Littlewood, who played his first real role in the series when he played his father.

Mr Gittesons latest film, Daddy’s Army, has now grossed over a million dollars at the Australian box office, with the Australian edition of the film set to be released in November.

The comedy series has been watched more than 100 million times on YouTube and more than 3.3 million times for Twitter.

“Dad is an important part of my life, and I’m happy to see it is so popular on YouTube,” Mr Gitter said.

“And that’s what really makes it so special, is that we all love Dad.”

Mr Gittle said his father had been a big part of the show.

“He was a huge influence on our lives, both in terms of his work ethic, his love of the outdoors, his work ethics, his ability to be a father, he was a great worker,” Mr Anderson said.

The dad sitcom Mr Giver’s other film, Uncle Ben’s Dad, starring Matthew McConaughey as his late uncle Ben, has also been a hit at the box office with the latest installment earning over $500,000 at the domestic box office.

The film was directed by Tom Arnold and stars Jason Statham as Ben, Jamie Bell as his younger brother, Paul, and David Morrissey as the younger brother.

“It’s the only thing that he ever really cared about, so I think it’s just the perfect family story for us,” Mr Arnold said.
